We are excited to announce an opening for the position of Electrical Engineer at our Ewekoro, Ogun facility.
Job Overview
As an Electrical Engineer, your primary role will be to ensure the reliability of electrical equipment while optimizing safety, quality, and cost. You will also be responsible for maintaining the plant’s electrical systems to maximize equipment availability.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation, modification, testing, and operation of plant electrical systems.
- Investigate electrical failures and document findings using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
- Analyze maintenance performance data to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including the LOTOTO system.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Maintain and repair electrical wiring, motors, transformers, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical equipment malfunctions.
- Develop maintenance procedures for electrical systems.
- Lead plant start-up or shutdown processes in collaboration with system operators.
- Train and mentor technicians and craftsmen while ensuring team safety.
Safety and Compliance
- Monitor transformer pens, sub-stations, and electrical panels to ensure safe conditions.
- Conduct regular testing of safety equipment like pull switches and cords.
- Support the Integrated Management System (IMS) and adhere to environmental and safety standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: B.Sc. or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably in the cement industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and quality management methods.
- Familiarity with CMMS software such as SAP.
- Behavioral Traits:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on precision and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and lead projects effectively.
