Paras Energy provides EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services and maintenance for substations, transmission lines, and pressure-reducing and measuring stations. Our mission is simple: to make electricity accessible and affordable for all.

Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-Time
Your Key Responsibilities
Policy Development
- Create, implement, and update health and safety policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Effectively communicate these policies to employees, fostering awareness and adherence.
Risk Assessment
- Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards and propose corrective actions.
- Analyze incident data to detect trends and drive improvements.
Training & Education
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs tailored for employees across all levels.
- Stay updated on industry standards and evolving regulations to ensure relevant training content.
Emergency Preparedness
- Create and manage emergency response plans.
- Organize drills and exercises to ensure employees are equipped to handle emergencies.
Regulatory Compliance
- Stay informed about health and safety legislation and ensure the organization meets all requirements.
Incident Investigations
- Investigate accidents, near-miss events, and safety-related incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of investigations and corrective measures taken.
Promoting a Safety Culture
- Champion a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Encourage employee engagement in safety programs and initiatives.
Collaboration
- Work with cross-functional teams to address safety concerns and implement enhancements.
- Maintain effective communication with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: HND/Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager or a similar role.
- Certifications: Professional health and safety certification (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership abilities to influence and drive safety initiatives.
- Analytical and problem-solving expertise.
